THE KILLING OF PC HARPER : A WIDOWS FIGHT FOR JUSTICE
CRACKIT PRODUCTIONS FOR ITV
1 x 60
The definitive story of a crime that sent shockwaves across the country, the brutal killing of PC Andrew Harper
This one-off crime documentary was fronted by Sir Trevor McDonald and reveals the investigation to catch his killers, and how his widow Lissie has campaigned in the aftermath to change the law for those convicted of killing an emergency worker.
Beyond directing Sir Trevor, I had also to negotiate with and manage the police, legal teams, government and earn the trust of grieving family and friends. In creating this film, it was imperative to me that I showcase and celebrate the strength and determination of Lissie and make an authentic and fitting tribute to PC Harper. I also self shot Sir Trevor on second camera.
‘Compelling, accessible account of a tragedy. There’s an unmistakable dignity to this ITV documentary’s interviews with the widow and colleagues of the officer killed on duty’. The Guardian
‘Sincere and emotive. Lissie is eloquent and determined in her campaign’. The Times
Streaming on Apple TV and Amazon Prime.
